The system is used in all possible ways: NFS (Linux environment), CIFS (Windows environment) and LUN´s over Fibre Channel. Lun´s are used for two purposes: VMware virtualization environment for fibre channel datastores, and the use of parallel file systems (AbFS and Fraunhofer) in calculation systems.

Backups are performed by a robotic library Overland NEO 8000, which has four LTO2 drives (capacity increase to 12) and up 580 cartridges. To perform backups using two programs: Bull Calypso and Bacula.
